About
Meet the mind behind Al Koron.
Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Al Koron has always claimed the whole world as his hood. At 73, he brings a universal outlook, a multifaceted personality, and the energy and respect to meet life on life’s terms.
Koron is an acclaimed artist, poet, songwriter, musician, actor, leather craftsman, producer, nutritionist, and comedian. In April 2026, he starred in The Check In, a film produced by EZ Street of 96.3 WHUR-FM in Washington, D.C.
He serves as Executive Coordinator for the D.C. chapter of Warriors 4 Epilepsy, a nonprofit led by Domita White. He is also an alumnus of District Dads and Academy DC, and a volunteer at Martha’s Table and other nonprofits throughout the city.
Today, Koron is creating music, working on his fifth book, and preparing to launch the AK48 brand. His creativity, community service, and life experience continue to shape everything he does.
